The journey of Alkanz Estate began in 2006 as a dry, arid piece of land in the Essaouira Province with absolutely nothing growing on it.

Since then, year on year, building, cultivating and careful maintenance has resulted in Alkanz as we know it today. Around 400 trees now populate the estate ranging from Almond, Apricot, Fig, Grapefruit, Lemon, Mandarin, Olive, Orange, Palm, Plum, Pomegranate and Quince trees. Various herbs and vegetables grow in the aromatic garden such as Coriander, Mint, Parsley, Rosemary, Onions and Tomatoes. Lavender, Jasmine and Rose flowers give a pleasant aroma to the garden.

The construction of Alkanz Villa has been in working progress since 2010, taking over 8 years to complete. Locally sourced materials, traditional craftsmanship, authentic architecture and Islamic heritage underpin the ethos and design of Alkanz Villa. All of this would not have been possible without the Blessing of Allah and then the help of countless relatives who have made Alkanz a truly memorable and priceless family treasure.
